The Koger Center for the Arts is proud to partner with Love, Peace and Hip-Hop to bring World Famous Hip-Hop Family Day back to Columbia! The festival is free to the public and takes place on the Koger Center's outdoor Plaza Stage.
Honored by Family Circle Magazine as the Top Family Friendly Festival in South Carolina and among the Top 50 in the nation, World Famous Hip-Hop Family Day celebrates the intergenerational legacy of hip-hop culture. Consistently drawing enthusiastic, engaged, and energetic crowds, this event's sterling reputation has led to partnerships with respected national, state, and local organizations like the City of Columbia, WellCare, HeadCount, AARP, US Army, Columbia Museum of Art, EdVenture Children's Museum, and Richland Library.
Founded a decade ago by FatRat Da Czar on the principles of love, peace, unity, and having fun, Hip-Hop Family Day has never wavered from its mission to offer a free, family-friendly hip-hop music festival without alcohol or cursing. With festival attendance growing steadily from 3,900 in 2013 to 20,000, this black-owned and operated festival has made a lasting impact on families of all demographics who return year after year for an unforgettable celebration of music, art and dance.
