Divine Mischief: The Music of John Mackey

John Mackey, guest composer

The USC Wind Ensemble opens its 2023-24 season with a concert of music by world-renowned composer John Mackey, who will join the ensemble for an afteroon of high energy music. USC School of Music Professor of Clarinet Joseph Eller will perform Mackey's virtuosic clarinet concerto Divine Mischief, and the concert will close with Mackey's epic symphony Wine Dark Sea, a dramatic musical portrayal of Homer's The Odyssey.
