Pre-concert Events Begin at 6:00 p.m.
This summer solstice jazz event in celebration of international Make Music Day will take place in the Koger Center lobby. Featuring a wine tasting selection presented by Republic National Distributing Company of South Carolina, food trucks in the front circle, a pre-concert Q&A moderated by Bradley Fuller of Sonatas and Soundscapes, swing dance lessons with instructors from Blue Moon Ballroom, and an evening filled with premier jazz, this event will not be one to miss!The Mark Rapp Group will commence at 8:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
4:00 - 5:00 pm - Kierra Gray will perform in the lobby.
6:00 - 8:00 pm - Food Trucks will be in front of the building
6:30 - 8:00 pm - Wine Tasting (Sponsored by Republic National Distributing Company of SC)
6:30 - 8:00 pm - Performances by Hannah Black and E.Z. Shakes
8:00 - 10:00 pm - The swing concert will begin including the Q&A and the dance lessons.
Part of Make Music Columbia Day
Make Music is a free celebration of music arounf the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
Unlike a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind on musician - young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion - pours onto the streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends neighbors and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public!
